Important
He is developing more of his own personality which seems to be tough, but all right as he has a big sister with a tough personality to follow :)
His grandparents left in June and now he has been going to daycare more. At first it was hard to stay behind but now he is getting more used to there.
He likes his cars, trucks and tractors (he chose the first clothing item himself, it is a shirt with fire trucks on it) and playing outside with sand or with his sister. At daycare he likes being outdoors.
Language development
Saying: oh-oh, dada, occasionally mama, auto, ba (ball), ka (cat), näna (about his sister), tadaa (for goodbye), halloo (saying hi), moo (cow), kwak-kwak (duck), aaie (aaien, to pet in Dutch), nee (no). Uses sounds for his play, like rrrrr for the car. Not all the words are in practical use.
Seems to understand everything, responds to questions / requests (come here, we'll go to sleep).
Uses gestures.
Seems to be lagging behind in language development, so I will wait and see and if it doesn't improve tremendously, I want to consult a speech therapist in August/September.
Motor development
He is running, walking, boucing, clapping his hands. He likes walking with his stridor bike with 3 wheels.
He throws the ball but not yet kicks it.
He likes sensory activities like sand and playdough a lot. He mixes all the playdough together and then builds sort of piles of these.
Social-emotional development
He is letting us know what he wants and what not, but seems frustrated a lot still (language skills?). The mornings are the hardest, as he is very moody before eating and drinking.
Sleeping
He sleeps once a day (at home 11:30/12 for 2 hours, at daycare later and max 1 hour, has even gone without sleeping there!) and sleeps round the clock at night. He needs a lot of awake time in the afternoon before being able to fall asleep (looks like 4-5 hours at least).
Sleeps with his bunny, no paci anymore, and no assistance, apart from the white noise.
Eating
Is getting pickier, likes yoghurt, fruit, but can eat other foods well when he is hungry enough. Dinner at daycare is working well for us for both kids mostly.
