M at 2 years and 8 months

It has yet been again a big 2 months. It has been very busy and she turned 2 y 8 mo just before we went on holiday to Estonia.

Important

- Still potty trained, we are so proud of her!

- Her focus is on language development for sure. She is learning so much every day.

- She is very keen on wearing certain clothes every day. Her favourites are black pants, her Stinky shirt and lion socks. For a short time, she wanted to wear her prettiest dress.

- Picky in eating, eats only simple things and at the moment mainly bread with butter and cheese (although she will eat fruits, berries, potatoes and macaroni/pasta).

- Loves to count (1 to 10), hang, color and build.

- Can color in lines since over a month. We started doing preparation excercises for writing (connecting points, drawing in lines) and she can do simple ones.

- Absolutely loves singing and sings in tune.

- The last flight to Estonia was her best one. Keeping her nourished and entertained is the key...

Language

- Uses negation in sentences since 2 y 6 mo, e.g. "dada tööta ei", "emme ei sokid"

- Asks questions: Kus ta on? Mis see on? Where is ...?

- Uses comparisons "krooks nagu konn" or "ripu nagu ahv"

- Tells a story "Üks kord..."

- Makes connections in sentences"sellepärast Mia läks tuttu"

- Tries to use linking words, but does it in Dutch "emme en M ..."

- Can interact succesfully with other kids in Estonian.

- Gets by better in Dutch at daycare, and participates more in the morning circle.

- Uses "I" about herself in all three languages, still sometimes uses her name though.

- Uses declinations in Estonian (most simple and frequent ones)

- During our trip to Estonia she has taken HUGE steps in Estonian and English too.

Eating

- Very picky lately! Still loves bread, sweets and carrots.

Sleeping

- Not ready to give up the afternoon nap, we learned. It takes over an hour to get her to bed at a decent time, we are hoping this to pass soon...
