Our little child, who feels like was a newborn just days ago, will turn 2 in just two months! This post is written a week after her real 22 month birthday and it is really hard to see the relevance of anything else than the bad things that are happening. At least we have the little M who is just very happy and enjoys all the small things in life (and has just attended her first-ever protest).

Important events and developmental milestones

- M can say about 70 words now, mostly in Estonian and English, but about 10 words in Dutch as well. Read this about her language development.

- We were in Estonia for 2 weeks for holidays. She absolutely loved snow and sledding!

- She will be going over to a bigger kids group at daycare (2-4 years). She has been playing her daily now, as some of her little friends have already joined that group.

- More and more pretend play, especially with her doll. She is doing a lot of caring activities, such as dressing the doll, feeding it, singing a lullaby. She will do these activities with her Duplo men as well (extremely cute :-)).

- M is big on building as well. She can put the Duplo blocks together and build towers with regular blocks.

- M enjoys handicrafts a lot, as you can read here. A couple of days after this post, we went through many of the activities we hadn't done yet (read: quarantine time).

- Most of all, she likes being outside, visiting her favorite animals, alpacas, or just running around at the park. Schedule

- Still same as last months.

Eating

- M thankfully started eating porridge again for breakfast over the holidays. You just need to use real oats, milk, and butter for it :-) Ed: she stopped eating it again a week ago. Why?

- She is still quite picky but we are using most of the rules I have written about here. We need to be consequent and it will bring success, right?

- M has stopped eating kiwis (for the first time!), but she loves pears, apples, and grapes at the moment.

Challenges

- You need A LOT of patience to get anything done, such as dressing her in the morning or getting her to the car and to daycare. She likes to do things in her tempo which necessarily doesn't correspond to our tempo...

- M hates being told no and it will make her have a huge meltdown. Accepting boundaries is a key goal still...

- I am in a busy place with my training and therefore away more than I would like to which makes me worried for her language development. So I guess this is more of my challenge than hers :-) This situation will be resolved in some months, hopefully.
