Our daughter is 11 months old!

Updated: Mar 25, 2021

Important events and developments

It has been quite a month! I got to spend 1,5 weeks at home with her and enjoyed it tremendously. Now I am back to the schedule of being away from home 5 days a week and that is quite of an adjustment...

Between 10 and 11 months she learned to:

- start discovering how to pull herself up (she wants to get her foot down on the full sole when she is up on her knees)

- when she was a few days short of 11 months, she pulled herself up holding on to the stairs for the first time!

- understand some words (she knew her own name before only): "Tule!" ("come" in Estonian), "kiisu" ("kitty" in Estonian)

- said her first word: kiki (meaning the cat) and after that "Aitäh!" (thank you in Estoninan)

- put the circle and square shapes through the fitting holes of a shape puzzle

- can put together a one shape puzzle (the circle)

- when I give her something and say "Palun" and open my hand, she gives it back, I say "Aitäh", when I pass it back, she says "Aitäh" as well.

- a day after turning 11 months, she learned to go to a sitting position from crawling or from sitting on her knees

Eating

She has started to have more dinners with us, eating the same food. She loves pasta dishes, such as ravioli or just plain macaroni. Her favourites are still the kiwi, pear, pancakes, breadsticks. She still gets breastmilk in the morning.

Sleeping

She has started waking up at 6:30 instead of 7 AM despite the same bedtime. Maybe the daylight savings will fix this but if not, it is not the end of the world as I need to leave 7:10 AM and can therefore not only breastfeed her but also get her dressed and give her her porridge before I leave.

Favourite activities

M has become more interactive, she watches everything we do and loves it. She is an expert crawler now and goes after the cats very quickly! We play the "sõit-sõit-sõit linna" (hopping her on my lap) game. She loves to pull all the books out of the shelf and look at them. She has some favourites to look at herself and some for reading to her. I will try to make a separate post about that (edit: here it is!). M loves when her father flips her around and throws her in the air. The best thing!

Schedule

Quite the same as last months, except for the earlier wake-up time.

Statistics

She wears a size 74 now. We weighed her when she was 10 months old and she weighed 8,6 kg. During the weekend she sleeps about 14 h and about 13 hours on daycare days.
